Join us for an afternoon of "performing" plays from Kenneth Koch's One Thousand Avant-Garde Plays (1988). Come to read a part or two--or just watch. Parts will be given out at the event. No costumes. No staging. No pressure. Free and open to the public.
"From hilarious and bizarre plays so short and minimalist they barely fill half a page to three-act mock epic extravaganzas, Koch’s wildly playful and imaginative plays experiment with the limits and promise of the theater and its first principles, raising an array of questions about the relationship between theater and poetry along the way."
